How to Play Spider Solitaire?

Spider Solitaire is one of the most loved and challenging solitaire card games due to its engaging gameplay combined with strategic depth. Played with two regular 52-card decks, the name of the game comes from eight foundation piles players have to create, just like the eight legs of a spider. First, Spider Solitaire is set up by shuffling the cards and dealing them into ten tableau piles. The first four piles contain six cards each, while the remaining six piles contain five cards each; only the top card of each pile is dealt face up. The remainder of the cards forms a stockpile to draw from to continue gameplay. The goal is to create eight complete sequences of cards in descending order from King to Ace of the same suit and move them to the foundation piles.

In the tableau, cards are moved around and piled up in descending order by rank, regardless of suit. However, to move a sequence of cards, all cards in the sequence must belong to the same suit and be in descending order. Any card or sequence can be used to fill the empty tableau spaces, which gives a great deal of possibility for rearranging the cards. If there are no more moves left to make, then the stockpile can be dealt, adding one card to the top of each tableau pile.
